Happy B-Day Landon

Baby Landon turned 1 on the 9th. We had his party on the 14th. He was so tired when it was over that as soon as we layed him down he fell asleep. This is a rare happening around here.

Oh Twissmas Twee

This is our ghetto tree as Lacee calls it. We have always had the magazine looking trees as she calls them. You know~~ the theme of ornaments and colours and matching paper. I love those trees. I have enough different themes to decorate my neighborhood a few times. I love the stuff! Anyway..........this year we did a baby toy tree for Baby Landon.

I am hoping the snow and ice let up so I can finish up my shopping. It is not complete til the packages are blocking the door way. LOL. Some of his birthday balloons are still hanging up too. Grampa said not to take them down yet. Silly old boy.

Tuesday Rocks

My cat is back!!! Husby, Lacee, Fendi (my pekachu), and I were all crazy excited to see her. Husby said she left cuz I do not feed her canned food every day. LOL. Right. Hhmm.........

Yes she has a binki. She loves them and is proud to carry them around. Meet Fendi. She is a pekachu---an expensive designer mutt is what she is. But she is the sweetest dogger we have ever had. She is nuts for Landon. Fendi is very tiny. Her legs are about 2 inches tall and she has more hair than I can comb. I think she is possibly the cutest dogger I have ever seen.

McCain lost the election today. I actually felt kind of sick seeing Obama declared the winner. I do not think this is going to be good. Not at all. So most of Tuesday rocked anyway.

Monday Sucks!

Our cat has disappeared. She has been gone before for a few days but this time we all just know that she is not coming back. Husby is her favourite human even though she is my cat. We have had her for almost 10 yrs. I got her when she was just 9 weeks old and no bigger than my hand. She has long greyish silver and white fur. Prissy is very petite and sleek. Most times she follows Husby around as if she were a dog. It is quite funny to see him working in the garage and yard and this silly cat following him all over and prancing around him. When we eat out on the deck she begs for dinner morsels as a dog does.

I also found out that my friend Patty of 21 yrs was killed in a head on collision a few days ago. I just feel sick about this. Her daughter Sam is 16 and this is so hard for her. Then her husband Todd as well--------my prayers go our for them for peace and comfort in this time. Weird thing is I met Patty over 21 yrs ago at a motel we worked at. We had a large group of us there and many of us became good friends. 9 of them are dead now.

I miss my cat and I feel awful for Patty's family. This Monday sucked.

Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment for a cleaning. I hate going to the dentist but I do it every six months. Makes my hands sweat and I feel sick to my stomach and I just hate going. I always look for excuses to cancel and reschedule. I am such a weenie when it comes to this.

Had my pictures done at a studio today. I liked the lady so I stuck my tongue at her and then smiled for her. I think she liked me.

Ok so we were visiting at my Mom's house the other day and Landon decided that he needed her glasses more than she does. This is the result.

This baby truly makes me happy! He is such a joy and a blessing to me.

College Monies

So the other day in the mail Lacee gets a letter to inform her that her scholarship monies have been increased to $ 2, 250.00 for this yr. (She finally applied for some so I did not have to keep paying her tuition.) I was like WOOHOO then remembered wait she is not going back to school. She thought about it for a while and then said No once again. So now it is really a no go and she will take in a letter tomorrow to decline the funds. Can you hear me crying??? I still think she is making a HUGE mistake.

Totally did not see this one coming........

So....Lacee has informed us that she will not be returning to college this quarter. She told us that she does no longer want to attend. ( This is an honor roll student! Hello!!!) She said she will go back later on. Yeah right! We all know how that one will play out.......... Holding back my tears........My insides totally freaked out when the words came out of her mouth.
I have really had to pray on this and just keep telling God and myself that I trust Him . I just keep saying , "God I trust you! "
I think she is making a huge mistake. Big, big, big, Huge! (Pretty Woman quote here.)
So now her plan is to work more and get some more money. She makes enough as it is and we pay for almost all her expenses so it is not like she is poor and never has money. We have taught her to mangage her money well and she does it well. She always has a nice sum in her checking account and has a really nice savings account AND a cash stash here at home. So I am not seeing how she needs more..............Maybe I am blind...........
I just wanted more for her than Doug and I had. I wanted her to grab it all and go for it.
She knows that college grads make on average about a quarter million more than non grads. Again, I must be blind here.
This goes without saying that I am so proud of what she has already accomplished. But..............the sight thing again.............
I had a point to this post but lost it................Oh well............
Oh wait I remember now---I did not see this one coming!

Tribute to my Dad

Ok so here is a scrapbook page I did for my sis for her birthday. Well.......I have decided to keep this one and make her another one. It is not quite finished yet . The blue border is just my work surfce. I still need to sew the picture on and rip up all around the paper and then do a final matting on my card stock. It has been 5 yrs since my Dad passed and I still miss him terribly. Didn't he look kinda like Elvis when he was young?

Thoughts for the day

Here are a few ramblings from me
1) Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil. It has no point.
2) If it has prettier hair than you do and it is in the back of the fridge..THROW IT AWAY!
3) Grand kids are the best.
4) Chocolate is a food group. It comes from a bean....
5) Tofu no matter how you fix it is still gross.
6) Your kids may break your heart at times but more often than not they make it beat.
7) College is expensive!!!!!
8) No matter how you raise your kids, how much you talk yourself blue in the face, they make their own choices in the end.
9) When you have kids....The days may seem long but the years are short.
10) The new Blackbery Curve Smart Phone is not so smart.

Here we go.......

I was inspired to make a blog page after seeing all my niece's wonderful pages. I have to say it is so nice to be able to see how the kids are growing. Doug and I do not get around to see the family as much as we should. So seeing the pics of all the great nieces and nephews is a nice treat for us. And of course all of them are gorgeous kids-----after all they are Hales!
With that being said. I am officially welcoming you into our life with Landon.
Landon is my first grandchild and if Lacee stays true to her word as I did, he will be my only one. So I pray for her to have a desire for more kids as I want more grand babies to love and spoil.
Now to Landon.........He is a big boy! He was born big. He weighed 8 lbs 13 oz. and was 21 inches long. He was born on Dec. 9, 2007. He came on his due date and it is said that less than 2% of babies make it on the actual due date. So we of course thought that was pretty cool. Today he weighs in at 19 lbs. 4 oz. and is 28 in. long.
A few Landon facts. He must sleep swaddled every night and for every nap or he is not going to sleep. He does not like most fruit ( niether did his mommy). Lately Grampa seems to be his favourite person to watch. Landon smiles all the time except when he sees the camera or camcorder. We have to sneak up on him to take movies and pictures. His middle name is Pierce. I love his name. Landon is terrified of his exersaucer. I don't know why but he is. It started out that we could sit him in it and then he would look at the toys and scream. Now all we have to do is get his feet near the seat and he screams like he has been beat. Poor baby. So this now poses a problem as he is too big for his bouncer, his swing, and to leave him alone on the floor for any amount of time is not good. He is quick! We do have a play pen for him but he looks like a little prisoner in it. I call it the baby jail. Good thing he likes his high chair.
